A poem that I read this morning really touched me and I just felt the need to share it.
"As twilight makes a rainbow robe
From the concealed colors of day
In order for time to stay alive
Within the dark weight of night,
May we lose no one we love
From the shelter of our hearts.
When we love another heart
And allow it to love us,
We journey deep below time
Into that eternal weave
Where nothing unravels.
May we have the grace to see
Despite the hurt of rupture,
The searing of anger,
And the empty disappointment,
That whoever we have loved,
Such love can never quench.
Though a door may have closed,
Closed between us,
May we be able to view
Our lost friends with eyes
Wise with calming grace;
Forgive them the damage
We were left to inherit;
Free ourselves from the chains
Of forlorn resentment;
Bring warmth again to
Where the heart has frozen
In order that beyond the walls
Of our cherished hurt
And chosen distance
We may be able to
Celebrate the gifts they brought,
Learn and grow from the pain,
And prosper into difference,
Wishing them the peace
Where spirit can summon
Beauty from wounded space."
One of the things that I love to do most is take long walks through the woods. Lately I keep coming across one of my favorite animals, the deer. This picture is of my most recent encounter with a lovely doe and her three fawns. I believe that when you keep having repeating experiences, the Universe is trying to tell you something, so I thought I would research and share more about the symbology of the deer. For me personally, they represent a gentleness of spirit. If you are given the gift of the opportunity to lock eyes, there is an innocence and peacefulness there that can bring an immediate sense of calm. I love the way that they carry themselves and their natural elegance and poise. They are the epitome of grace, love and beauty. Mother deer stay with their fawns and nurse them often, imparting a message which relates to nurturing ourselves and others. Deer have very acute senses and will know that you are coming long before you get there. As soon as they hear you, they can freeze and become so silent that they almost seem to blend away into the background before your very eyes. Maybe this is one of the reasons why they are sometimes associated with the magical realm of fairies. In fact, the deer is mentioned in the mythology of many cultures and linked with a variety of divine beings such as the Greek Goddess Artemis and the Celtic God Cernunnos. In folklore, the white stag is particularly significant as the heralder of new quests and adventures. When any animal repeatedly shows up for you, I think it is helpful to study them and their behaviors and attempt to interpret the messages that they might be trying to share. I see it as an opportunity to learn and apply these things to my own life. Currently, I feel that the deer is encouraging me to be more gentle and kind to myself, as well as others. Some new adventures might be coming my way and it could be a good time to observe and be more still so that I don't miss them. I may also benefit from spending more time with my family and listening more, while speaking less. While this is what the deer means to me at this time in my life, each person’s experience and interaction with animals is varied and personal. What does the deer mean to you?
Considering recent events, I must say that the state of affairs in our country and our government has really been on my mind. There has also been a lot of speculation going on about the upcoming solar eclipse and what impact or implications it might have. So, I thought I would do a past/present/future spread asking about the eclipse and any effects that it might have on the political landscape. The results were interesting. In the past position we have the Ten of Cups, in the present we have The Tower and in the future, The World. Wow. If I had picked these cards myself, I couldn’t have done it any better! When we look at the past administration, it makes total sense to me that it would be represented by the Ten of Cups. This is known as the “Happy Family” card and it symbolizes, harmony, cooperation and a connectedness with God and nature. There is also the obvious link to married life, partnership, the home and an equal balance between the masculine and feminine sides. I love that there are even the two little children dancing. When we look at our past President and First Lady it always seemed to me that there was such a feeling of happiness and love between them. They always behaved in a kind and respectful way to one another and it did seem as though they loved living in the White House and making it their home. As far as the overall administration, I do believe that cooperation and harmony were at least always the goal, even if it wasn’t possible. The idea of taking care of all people and that of all people being equal was an obvious focus. The Past President certainly appeared to treat the First Lady fairly and seemed to view her as his equal. This is all in sharp contrast to our current administration. I won’t even repeat the vile things that our current President has said about women and minorities. He and the First Lady have made it very clear from the very beginning that they have absolutely no desire to live in the White House. The First Lady doesn’t even seem to want to hold his hand. Anyway, the Ten of Cups card certainly belongs in the PAST position and not in the present. I see no happy family there now. Now let’s talk about the PRESENT card. This is where I can’t help but get excited! Ah, The Tower card! I really can’t believe that this came up here! Such good news if you are someone who cares about humanity. This card symbolizes a dramatic shock and usually not of a pleasant nature. It is the warning of an upset or a fall that has a significant impact with major consequences. Let’s see, can I think of a major TOWER that I would not mind seeing fall? Absolutely. Apparently, the eclipse is definitely bringing in a dramatic change of energy. Interestingly, The Tower card can also indicate a significant breakdown in communication which can lead to divisiveness and tension. A pretty perfect card to describe our PRESENT position. The good news here is that this shock also brings enlightenment and the opportunity to completely rebuild things and learn how to communicate in a new and better way. Something that I think our government and the people of our country really need to do. I was really happy to see The Tower card and the dramatic change that it heralds, but I am even happier to see The World card in the FUTURE! This is a wonderful card that represents Mother Earth and the healing of the world and of the self. Given the backwards slide that we have been seeing in the laws protecting our planet, along with the complete disregard for truth and Science, this card in the Future position is a big relief. It also symbolizes success, achievement and a cosmic consciousness. The figures and garland that surround “Mother Earth” let us know that she is protected by a higher force than us. In other words, don’t mess with Mother Nature. As I see it, it indicates that there can be peace between the people of this country and the world as a whole. We can then begin to feel this peace within ourselves. The World card suggests that a new administration is on the way to restore world order. Keep the faith people. There is hope. Thank you, wonderful eclipse energy! That would certainly be night and day!
Many thanks to Normandi Ellis for her wonderful presentation at The Way of the Phoenix Workshop on June 30th and July the 1st. The feedback has been wonderful and it was an enlightening and informative experience. The energy of the Phoenix was certainly felt!

My Goddess Tarot deck has been calling to me all day, so I hope someone out there may benefit from this reading. The Ten of Swords, Queen of Pentacles, the Power and the Fortune cards suggest that there is a difficult situation going on that involves money and a strong-willed female in your life. If this speaks to you, then your interactions with this person may have been somewhat painful and left you feeling rather stabbed in the back. The good news is that your power struggle with this individual is almost over. The Goddess Freya comes in on her chariot to remind you that YOU are actually the one who holds the Power here. Part of this is simply coming to the realization that you really don’t need anything that this person has to offer in order to be happy anyway. You can let go of any lingering worries because the Goddess Lakshmi brings you the extra encouragement of the Fortune card. Fate is currently on your side. Take heart because your financial situation is about to change for the better. Give thanks for these blessings once you receive them in order to keep the good energy flowing!

What are you so afraid of, dear heart? Heed the messages that you are receiving from your higher self, along with your most protective guides. They are encouraging you to draw on your inner strength and face the fears that are holding you back. Look the darkness in the face and ask yourself if these fears are a reality or simply an illusion that you are creating in your own mind. Imagine what the best outcomes of your efforts will be and banish the worst-case scenario. Then sit back and watch the magic that unfolds.

A Special Note:
It has been a life-long dream of mine to visit the beautiful land of Egypt. I have always been drawn to this culture and I would love nothing more than to be able to go there and experience it for myself. I am thrilled to say that I will be attending a spiritual retreat and journey there in February and March of 2018, so I am currently using part of my proceeds and all my tips to help fund this endeavor. This trip will be an amazing chance for me to learn as I strengthen my relationship and connection to the Divine. I want to thank all my clients in advance for the support that they are giving me to help me fulfill this dream. Many blessings to you!
