This will be the next event where I will be available and I wanted to share the great seminar schedule that they just released! I hope you can make it, there is really something for everyone!
innerlightfestival.com/seminar-schedule Well, we are halfway through January, and I am just now getting to my New Year’s Spread! It feels as though 2018 came in a hurry with an awful lot of energy. I hope everyone has been using it to their advantage and that you are busy crafting a beautiful new year for yourself and those around you. Since time does seem to be moving so quickly now, I am going to try to keep this year’s spread at least somewhat short and sweet. I was drawn to use two decks this year. I pulled a card for an overview of 2018 from my Animal Tarot and one for each month from my Tarot Mucha deck. Here are the interpretations:
2018 Overview This is an encouraging card to draw and indicates a year of great progress towards goals and manifesting positive outcomes. In the more traditional decks it can indicate that your ship is about to come in, which is always nice to hear. However, as the number three, it means that things are still in the building process and you may need patience before the final outcome of your desires is achieved. As I focus on the sea turtle image, I sense a renewed interest in the environment and a push to help protect the planet and its resources. At the personal level, this may reflect a renewed interest in taking better care of your own body and health. January – The King of Wands January will be a month to follow your passions. You should have the drive and determination necessary to start new projects or to follow through on the ones that you have already begun. This is a month to use your willpower to push through any difficulties that may arise. Relationships may have a passionate flair as well. Just be cautious about acting too spontaneously or your mouth might get you into trouble. Control your impulse long enough to consider other people’s feelings. February – The Ten of Pentacles Ah, February reveals the “Family Heritage” card. This card indicates that things should be coming to a very rewarding conclusion for you. Previous plans should be wrapping up and the positive things that you have been envisioning for yourself may actually be materializing. This is especially true in the world of job, career and finances. These blessings may also be having a very positive impact on those around you and you may also benefit from gifts of time, love and income from them. Make sure to let those around you know how much you appreciate them in order to keep this good streak going. March – The Ten of Cups In follow up to February, March continues to be a time to focus on family. This is known as the “Happy Family” card and indicates a time of love, joy, peace and harmony. Also like February, it is the number 10 which is the final card of the suit and denotes a time of wrapping things up and coming to a closure. Try to take some time off in March and spend it with family if you can. This is a time to focus on love and relationships rather than job and career which was the focus in February. You might consider using any extra income from that month to take a family trip or vacation. If you have been having any disagreements or difficulties with family members, this is the time to reach out to make peace. Likewise, if they reach out to you, you should consider being receptive. April – The Chariot The Chariot can be a literal “get moving” card so if you are considering a switch in home or job locations, this would be a good time to take action. It also indicates a need to grab the reigns and take control of your own destiny. If you got too cozy with all of the good family happenings of February and March, you may need to stretch and get back on the horse. It’s time to push forward and start something new. You may be trying to determine which direction to take in life and exactly what it is that you want to do. If this is the case, make sure that you are following your instincts and considering what is best for you and your peace of mind. May – The Four of Cups You may find yourself feeling discontent and unsatisfied during the month of May. If this is the case, stop and take time to reflect on all the beauty and wonder that surrounds you. Remember not to be so busy focusing on the things that you want, but may not yet have, that you fail to notice the new things that the Universe might be trying to offer you. This is a time to practice the Law of attraction and focus on the positive rather than the negative. Keep your mind on thoughts of gratitude so that you aren’t unintentionally making yourself a magnet for any more dissatisfaction. June – The Ten of Swords People flinch when they see the Ten of Swords, and it is a painful image. However, it doesn’t mean that June will be torture. While it does indicate that something may have been causing you some discomfort and pain, there is positive meaning to this card as well. Here we have the third 10 of the years spread, again repeating the theme of things concluding. Although some of this may have hurt, the storms are clearing, and the worst is now behind you. Whatever you might have had difficulty letting go of was most likely a blessing in disguise. Pick yourself and look towards brighter skies. Watch out for anyone that has a tendency to stab you in the back or seems to enjoy hurting peoples’ feelings. If this is the case, focus on your REACTION rather than the action that might have caused you any pain. You can always conduct yourself with dignity and grace, regardless of what others do. July – The King of Pentacles So here we are, halfway through the year. It is interesting to note that we begin in July as we did at the beginning of the year, with another King. I take this as a sign of renewed strength and power, following the apparent wear-down of our energy in June. The King of Pentacles is a figure of potency and stability. If you can draw on your determination, then you can restore order to your life. It may be helpful to put your time, focus, and energy into work right now, especially if you need a distraction from your personal life. Any effort spent in the areas of career, job, or education will likely pay off well. What you put out comes back to you, so remember to make sure that you invest yourself and your resources wisely. If you do, then your endeavors may pay off even better than you imagined. August – The Knight of Wands August is a fabulous time to travel. Take a look at your bucket list and find a way to make that dream vacation happen. Be brave and go somewhere that you have never been, do the things that you never thought you would have the courage to do and find a way to trample your fears and doubts. The Knight of Wands encourages you to take action in any areas of your life where you may have been holding back. Let your light shine and show the world what you can really do. Also be reminded that you have the ability to be someone else’s Knight in shining armor too, and reach out to those in need when you are able to. September – The Six of Swords This month’s card persuades you to look ahead. You may have learned some painful lessons along the way this year, but it indicates that the troubled water is behind you and that there is smoother sailing ahead. If you are feeling melancholy or sad about the past, try to get excited about new adventures that await and remember that you are always being guided by a higher force. Trust your instincts and call on the loving guidance of Spirit anytime you want or need to. The Universe always has your best interests at heart, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time. October – The Five of Swords October might be the perfect time to lay down your sword and walk away from any people or experiences in your life that aren’t serving your highest good. Some fights just can’t be won, and it would be smart to choose your battles wisely. Sadly, not everyone has your best interests at heart and there just may be no convincing them that you do either. This is the time to let go and resign yourself to the fact that you can’t win them all, and you may be better off without these things in your life anyway. (At the risk of offending some, I have to say that a certain person of power in political office may finally lay down his sword if he hasn’t already! Or perhaps it will be taken away from him. We shall see.) November – The Nine of Cups I was happy to see one of my favorite cards turn up for the month of November. For me, this is one of two “wishes granted” cards in the deck. It indicates a time of total satisfaction and complete happiness with everything around you. An interesting card to draw following October’s message. It is also noteworthy that it falls in the traditional month of Thanksgiving. I see this as a very positive indicator for this month. It predicts a time of blessings and having many things to be grateful for. This could be in all areas of your life, but the suit of cups speaks especially to your relationships and feelings. Family gatherings and celebrations should go well. Be sure to give thanks to the Universe and to those around you. You are also likely to have a much better sense of self-worth than you did at the beginning of the year, so pat yourself on the back for that. You have worked hard, and you certainly deserve it! December – The Lovers Isn’t this a fun card to end the year with? Although I will say that the angel in this deck appears much more as an intimidating ghost than the loving protector that he often is in other decks! While I would still call out December as a great time for romantic relationships, I feel the need to add a warning of caution about allowing your passions to overrun your common sense. This would be even more so if any old flames turn up that you know you are really better off without. If you fall for that same old line, you are likely to repeat the same old pattern and get burned once again. It would be much better to direct your energies towards new partners and endeavors. On a more global scale, I like that this card is also about partnerships and indicates a better balance between male and female, both within and without. I dare to say that is certainly something we could all use. Finally, ending the year with The Lovers card is a great indicator of a very fiery and passionate New Year for 2019! Thanks so much for taking the time to read through this years spread and many, many blessings to you throughout 2018! Just in case anyone was considering coming out for the Mystical Fair in Lexington today, I want to make sure that you know that it has been rescheduled due to weather and road conditions. Please let me know if you would like to schedule an appointment in the meantime and my sincere apologies for any inconvenience. Thank you and stay safe out there!
