3 card spread

Today I felt the urge to do a 3 card spread, rather than just a card of the day.  And since I always go with my gut, this is what I drew.   The King of Swords, Justice and the Five of Swords.  This is an interesting spread.  With so many swords going on, there is or just was a very serious decision to make that you are (or were) thinking over intensely.  The King of Swords can often stand for justice and truth, and with the repeated message of the Justice card in the middle of the spread, I would say that it is crucial that this decision be fair and balanced for all those involved, including yourself.  Symbolically, the King reminds me of the Norse God Odin, who protects and defends.  The 2 birds in the sky behind him are reminiscent of Odin's ravens, Huginn and Muninn.  They represent thought and memory and are seeking out truths to report back to him.  The Five of Swords indicates a situation where someone feels that they must win at all costs.  This could represent you, and if so the message is to think over carefully who you might be hurting in the process.  Are you sacrificing your integrity?  Will this ultimately be an empty victory?  If you resonate more with the figures walking away, then this is a message that some battles are just not worth fighting and it may be time to lay down your swords and walk away.  When I take all 3 cards into account, I feel that there may not be a clear winner in this fight.  Acting with the intent of creating balance and fairness for everyone may require that everyone has to sacrifice in some small way.  However, the butterfly on the King' throne stands for transformation and from this difficult decision new ways of thinking and interacting with others may come.  I wish you well in this process.  Blessings!
